Where French Heritage Meets California Wine Country

Coquelicot Mercantile was born from a lifelong love of beautiful objects and the stories they carry.

I grew up in Lyon, France, where weekends were often spent wandering brocantes, flea markets, and village fairs alongside my mother. Long before I understood the value of antiques, I was fascinated by the history, craftsmanship, and character found in everyday objects. Those early mornings searching for hidden treasures sparked a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life.

Fourteen years ago, I moved to California, but my connection to France never faded. Over the years, I continued returning home, exploring the countryside, visiting markets, and collecting pieces that reflected the timeless beauty of French country living—weathered farm tables, handmade pottery, antique linens, garden pieces, and objects shaped by generations of use.

When I met the family behind Coquelicot Winery, I immediately felt a connection. Their own story is deeply tied to France. As children, they spent their summers there, running through fields of coquelicots—the vibrant red poppies that inspired the winery's name and continue to symbolize their family's heritage.

What began as conversations about our shared love for France soon evolved into a vision. Together, we wanted to create something meaningful—more than simply a store. We wanted to create a place where people could experience a small piece of France, where every object has a history, a sense of place, and a story worth preserving.

Today, Coquelicot Mercantile is a curated collection of antiques, vintages, art, furnishings, and decorative objects sourced throughout France and all over Europe, and brought to Los Olivos.
Each piece is hand-selected for its authenticity, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal.

While deeply rooted in French heritage, Coquelicot Mercantile feels perfectly at home in Los Olivos. The rolling vineyards, oak-covered hills, horse ranches, and slower pace of life echo the landscapes of the French countryside that inspired this collection. Just as wine country celebrates craftsmanship, tradition, and a connection to the land, so do the pieces we bring from France. It is a natural meeting place between two regions that share a love for beauty, authenticity, and the art of living well.

Our hope is that these treasures not only bring beauty into your home, but also connect you to the rich traditions, memories, and spirit of the French countryside that inspired this collection from the very beginning.
